        It’s always out, we just can’t always see it because there is too much light in the sky from the sun or clouds obscuring it.

        Because of the rotation of the earth the moon is usually in the sky above the horizon for about 12 hours each day (when our side of earth is pointing to it) This is not always at night time so we can sometimes see the moon in the sky at day – if it is not directly between the earth and sun(new moon), and there is enough light reflecting off it compared to the sky and clouds.
