I have burnt my finger with a soldering iron and cut my finger with some glass. Neither required any more than a bit of cold water and a plaster.

I have burnt my hand on very cold dry ice (which is solid carbon dioxide). It required cold water and plaster also.

I sprained my ankle slipping on the kerb outside, probably the worst one. The more dangerous sounding explosions when acid was all over me didn’t cause any damage apart from my pride and a cold shower. I have had some pretty nasty paper cuts when reading too many research papers 😉

I got a rash on my wrist from working with zeolites in my PhD. Zeolites are mild irritants – I always wore gloves ( though I could have just washed my hands instead) – but powdered zeolite would get trapped under my watch strap and rub on my left hand, causing a sore red rash. There were even white patches where the metal of the watch touched me and I got no rash.

(taken when reported the injury to health and safety – it persisted for months!)
