• Question: Is there anything intrinsically built into the human race that drives our desire to gain more knowledge?

      Well we are descended from those who came out of the woods and walked tall (if you believe in evolution) so by virtue of that, we are descended from the ones who wanted to find out what else was out there. Does that give us a genetic predisposition to gain knowledge? Possibly.
      I think we’re all just nosy and that’s not always a bad thing.

      Curiosity is good for us in evolution. It gets us to do SCIENCE. Basically more curious species are more likely to die or get hurt, but they are also more likely to discover useful things that can be used by the tribe, like making tools. So curiosity is really good for pack animals and social animals and is good for putting the group above the individual! This does, however, leave the question of why the solitary cat is so curious…
