• Question: If you could go back in time, would you change anything about your career now?

      Yes, I would not waste so long waiting for a patent and working for that, because it has held my career up by years. Everything else however has been as I wanted. The hold up is because you work is being tied up legally, you can’t publish any of it, you get judged in academia by the number of publications you have so anything that stops you publishing for two years is practically career suicide!

      I’ve spent so much of my life really really busy, but the only thing I really wish is that I’d done more… Tried more stuff, learnt more things, strted doing science and climbing earlier, volunteered for more things. Life is an adventure and you have to live it!

      Not really – I’m not where I want to be in my career yet – there are still many years ahead of me to make it as an academic in Chemistry… I wish I could see in to the future though so that I had a better idea of where I was heading! – right now I am still unsure what area of Chemistry I want to settle down into long term
