• Question: how do you think the dinosaurs became extinct?

      Both the mass extinctions were caused by a huge shift in climate,
      The first one was the warming of the oceans, the second I believe in the asteroid impact followed by global cooling theory. If the species cannot adapt quickly enough to the huge changes in environment, then they will die.
      Humans could learn a lesson here – we know our climate is changing, but we aren’t adapting that quickly to reduce our impact on this.

      What she said. Have you heard of onion skin weathering? It’s what happens to rocks when they are heated and cooled really quickly back and forwards. Eventually rock peels apart from repeated expansion and contraction with temperature. If you think what weather can do to rocks it’s not a surprise that dinosaurs suffered and couldn’t cope with the worldwide heating and cooling.
