Maybe not life as we know it. I find it hard to believe that your consciousness is simply a bunch of electrical impulses in your brain, driven by a load of chemical reactions in your body and that energy cannot transform into something different when the body fails. I always liked the analogy of a car and driver, the car still exists regardless of driver, but the driver can step out and finish the journey on foot.

I don’t think there is, no. Humans want to believe there is (whether or not it’s true) because it satisfies our sense of purpose. Myself I think the idea of returning to nature is the most beautiful system i could imagine. I have had enough experience with weird psychological stuff like out of body sensations that have sciencey explanations that I find it hard to think of consciousness of something that is mine and under my control…! Mine at least!!!

No, is the simple answer Daisy. So make the absolute most of the one you have…do as much as you can and achieve as much as you can…If you become a scientist make sure you live on in peoples minds…Marie Curie is a good example. She’s been dead for decades but we all still know who she is…she even has an element named after her…Curium. Now that’s living forever! 🙂
