  The universe is expanding all the time so there could be a limit! Some theories suggest the universe is limited but doesn’t have edges. Two shapes of universe that fit with this theory are the saddle shaped universe or the doughnut shaped universe where we are moving around on the surfaces of the saddle/doughnut. So far no one has worked out how to test conclusively for saddled or doughnutshapedness!

  Space is expanding into itself, so it is possible it goes on forever. The real question is if the universe will expand forever – and the calculations for that are too close to call!
