        That depends on what version of string theory you believe. I hope so and would like to think so, but there is so much in this universe that we will have to get to grips with before we can find others.

        It’s a theory! The arguments are convincing, certainly the “multiple worlds” one where statistics only make sense with an infinite number of worlds. People don’t often like arguments built on statistics because they make us feel small, but it works for statistical thermodynamics, which is what you learn when you learn about how atoms move about in gases, liquids and solids randomly but restricted by their collisions and connections. On the other hand, there is no proof. How would you prove or disprove other universes?
