Yes – one reason I liked it was because I was good at it. It does take a lot of work to do well in science, but the important thing is effort, not natural ability – certainly at degree level. Some people I know didn’t do very well in science in school and went on to do science foundation courses because they really loved science and wanted to do it, so they did the work to get up to doing a doctorate in it and are excellent scientists to show for it!
