      no – you tend to stumble over new ideas by accident. In terms of making new compounds, yes, now and again I make new compounds that have not been made before – but this is because I design them for a specific function. In the last three years I have made 3 new compounds, and have discovered a way to coat nanoparticles with positively charged dye molecules
